If you’re in London or can easily get to London in late May, you really must experience Chelsea In Bloom. Although the Chelsea Flower Show can cost £38-116 per person, you can experience the best of Chelsea In Bloom without tickets. Grab your walking shoes and best friend, and make it a day trip to London you won’t forget.
UPDATE 2026: For Chelsea in Bloom 2026, the event will take place from May 18 to May 24, 2026. The 2025 theme is “Out of This World”.
In this post, see what to expect for a walk-around Chelsea during London’s prettiest flower show of the year.

Why You Should Go To Chelsea In Bloom
Is seeing Chelsea In Bloom worth it? Absolutely!
As someone who’d previously never been to Chelsea during Chelsea Flower Week, I have to say it is one of my favorite highlights of living in the UK. It’s also one of those unique only-in-Britain events every person should experience at least once.
Knowing nothing more than Chelsea storefronts decorated at their best and a flower show that I didn’t have tickets for, I went all the same and you should, too.
With 5 hours free to discover what all the Chelsea In Bloom social buzz is about, here’s how to experience Chelsea In Bloom without tickets and never look at flowers the same way again!
How Much Time You Need To Walk Chelsea In Bloom
To explore all of Chelsea In Bloom, including the time to browse some of the wonderfully decorated stores and a lunch, estimate 5 hours. There was no rush or need to hurry during our visit, and lunch was timed perfectly to avoid a long queue. This is based upon two adults without any children in tow or physical disabilities.
If you have Chelsea Flower Show tickets, plan two days in Chelsea: a day at the flower show, and a day to explore Sloane Street and the participating squares.
Getting There
Start your Chelsea In Bloom walk from the Knightsbridge underground station. Or kickstart your day with a visit to Mayfair to see Annabel’s covered 100% in faux peonies. If you missed their Christmas setup, you won’t want to miss this.

Then travel from Mayfair by bus stop H, number 19 or 22, to Knightsbridge. Witness the storefronts of nearby streets and neighborhoods that participate in the Chelsea Flower Week affair along the way.
At the end of the walk depart at the Sloane Square underground station. This route will maximize your time to see all that Chelsea In Bloom has to offer without flower show tickets.
Chelsea In Bloom Self-Guided Walking Tour
From Knightsbridge walk south on Sloane Street. Once at Sloane Square, turn left along rag & bone and follow around Sloane Square until you reach Club Monaco at the corner of King’s Road and Lower Sloane Street.
Pop into Club Monaco after trying to achieve a stranger-less storefront photo. If you’ve never been to Club Monaco, you’ll likely fall in love and quickly see why this brand is one of Meghan Markle’s favorites.
Cross over to Sloane Square and marvel at the incredibly elaborate flower masterpieces. Like nothing you’ve ever seen!
The 2019 Under The Sea theme offered an abundance of bold colors, mermaid tails, and gorgeous, extravagant sea-themed creatures. Disney and Sea World have nothing on this!

The Chelsea In Bloom Map
Within Sloane Square you can ask for a walking map, or save this digital Chelsea tour/map to your phone.
Be sure to look for all the major highlights as indicated on the Chelsea In Bloom map. Coral Garden, Sea Horse, Shoal of Fish, Plastic Oceans UK, Whale Tail, Turtle Postbox, and Orca were 2019 highlights so look for icons in similar locations for 2026.
If you can experience Chelsea In Bloom after 5pm, enjoy the Sloane Square pop-up bar. And don’t miss the perfect Instagram opportunity on the floral swing chair!
Alternatively, visit Sloane Square Hotel for all sorts of entertainment that support this year’s theme: stilt walkers, live music, living statues, and food and cocktails in the hotel Lounge.
Back On The Self-Guided Walking Tour
From Sloane Square cross the street to Symons Street. Then turn right down Pavilion Road to experience one of the nicest streets in all of Chelsea, or perhaps London (if you ask me!).
You’ll likely want to spend hours sitting outside at a cafe or restaurant on Pavilion Road, but turn around and return back later for lunch.
From Pavilion Road, turn right back on Symons Street. Stop at Kiki McDonough, the 2019 winner for the octopus and red lobster display and historically a top-achiever every year.

At the end of Symons Street, turn left on Cadogan Gardens and cross over King’s Road. Turn left and walk along King’s Road until you reach Space NK Apothecary. Snap a photo at Space NK and check Instagram for a chance to win a a Beauty Haul similar to 2025’s giveaway. Tag @SpaceNK.
Turn right to enter Duke of York Square. Do a lap around the square ending up just outside Saatchi Gallery. Rejoin King’s Road.
Hydrate At Kiehl’s & Get A Free Gift
Update 2026: Kiehl’s isn’t confirmed for 2026 but they are certainly along the walking route to easily confirm.
Head west on King’s Road and cross over at Blaiz returning east again. Popping in and out of interesting stores along the way, including Kiehl’s. Stop at Kiehl’s to see if they are offering a free gift this year; in 2019 they used the water fountain for a free gift reveal. So fun!
Then fill up your reusable water bottle with one of Kiehl’s many flavored waters on display just for walkers like us. If you bring your own bottle, you can refill as much as you want as part of their sustainability mission. (This is to be confirmed still for 2026.)

Where To Grab Lunch In Chelsea
After refilling your water bottle, head to one of the restaurants in Duke of York Square offering outdoor seating. Or go back to Pavilion Road and try one of theirs, such as Hans’ Bar & Grill. Perfectly situated out of direct sunlight and with a menu to delight anyone’s appetite, you can’t go wrong at Hans’.

After lunch head to Sloane Square underground station to conclude the day and head home, wherever home is. ☺️
Final Thoughts On Chelsea In Bloom Without Tickets
Even without tickets to the Chelsea Flower Show, you’ll feel beyond satisfied with your free walk around Chelsea. 100% worth it and officially my new favorite time of year.
If you don’t make the show, you can still get your fill of London flowers and imagine what it would look like with this London in Bloom book.
And if you have Chelsea In Bloom already checked off the bucket list, plan on these other amazing British events instead including the Trooping the Colour in June. 🌸
